What's Your Limit? New Voices, Real Change

My Campaign
Alcohol is a big part of life in Aotearoa, but the harms are too often overlooked. From unsafe situations and poor decisions to lifelong consequences for careers, families, and health — the risks are real.
As a law student, I’ve seen first-hand in court how many criminal cases are connected to alcohol. I’ve also seen friends affected by hazardous drinking. Young people especially are impacted — yet our voices are often missing when decisions about alcohol are made.
That’s why I’m standing for election to the Portage Licensing Trust. Licensing Trusts are meant to control alcohol sales responsibly, reinvest profits into our communities, and promote wellbeing. But I believe they can — and must — do more.
Through my campaign, I’m asking: What’s Your Limit?
It’s a question about alcohol, but also about accountability. My priorities are:
-
Minimising alcohol harm, especially for young people.
-
Transparency and accountability in how profits are managed.
-
Ensuring the community truly benefits from the Trust’s role.
This campaign is about building a healthier, safer, more transparent community for all of us.
